Terms of Service

Last updated: May 15, 2026

Draw.Audio is a free, browser-based step sequencer and synthesizer. It does not require an account or payment. These terms apply to your use of the site.

Ownership of your work

You retain ownership of the patterns, audio renders, MIDI files, and project exports you create using Draw.Audio. These outputs may be used for any purpose, including commercial use. The built-in drum kits, synthesizer presets, and impulse responses are licensed for use in works you create with Draw.Audio, including commercial works.

Sharing patterns

When you share a pattern using the share button, you release that pattern into the public domain under Creative Commons CC0 1.0. Anyone may use, modify, redistribute, or build on a shared pattern for any purpose, without attribution. You also grant Draw.Audio permission to host, cache, display, and serve the shared pattern, including on the /explore page. Sharing is irrevocable. A shared pattern that has already been retrieved by another user remains usable by that user even if it is later removed from the site.

Do not share patterns containing material you do not have the right to release into the public domain.

Acceptable use

By using Draw.Audio, you agree to the following:

Removal of shared patterns

Draw.Audio may remove any shared pattern at any time without notice. To report a pattern that violates these terms, infringes a third party's rights, or is otherwise objectionable, email randy@draw.audio with the share URL or 9-character pattern ID and a description of the issue. For copyright claims, include sufficient information to identify the work and confirm that you are the rights holder or an authorized representative.

MIDI and exported files

MIDI import, MIDI export, and audio rendering are performed in your browser. The server is not involved in these operations.

Service availability

Draw.Audio is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. No warranty is made regarding uptime, error-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or the continued availability of any feature. Features may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time. Offline functionality provided by the service worker is not guaranteed.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Draw.Audio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site, including loss of data, loss of work, or loss of profits. Total liability arising out of or related to Draw.Audio is limited to USD $100 or the amount paid by you to Draw.Audio in the preceding twelve months, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not permit these limitations. In those jurisdictions, the limitations apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Termination

Draw.Audio may block access from any visitor that abuses the service, including by attacking infrastructure, repeatedly violating these terms, or spamming shared patterns. Access may be blocked by hashed IP, visitor ID, or other technical means without notice.

You may stop using Draw.Audio at any time. Clearing your browser's site data removes locally stored information.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Any dispute arising out of or related to Draw.Audio will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to that jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. Material changes will be noted in the application and the "Last updated" date will be revised. Continued use of Draw.Audio after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Privacy

Data practices are described in the Privacy Policy.
