Mixer
Balance your tracks with the Draw.Audio mixer: volume faders, pan, reverb sends, peak meters and the main output, plus an 8-band EQ with a spectrum analyzer.
- Mixer View
- The mixer sits below the grid, beside the page thumbnails. It has one channel strip per track plus a Main strip for the overall output, and you can adjust it while the song plays. Click a strip to select its track. On phones, open it with the Mixer tab at the left of the page strip. The mixer is hidden in Simple mode.
- Track Strips
- Name: click the name at the top of the strip to rename the track (for example "Bass" or "Hi-Hat"). The icon beside it shows whether it is a synth or drum track and lights up when the track plays. Pan: places the track left or right in the stereo field. Reverb Send: controls how much of the track is sent to the shared reverb. Raising it turns on the track's reverb if it is off. Fader: sets the track's volume, up to +12 dB. Double-click to reset to the default level. Mute / Solo: the M button silences the track. S solos it, so only soloed tracks are heard. Track Options: the gear button opens the track's name, speed, time signature, columns, color, and Duplicate Track. Reorder: drag the colored edge of a strip to move the track. On touch screens, long-press it first. Delete: the small × on each strip removes the track (two-click confirm).
- Peak Meters
- Each strip has an LED-style stereo meter showing the track's live output. Green is safe headroom, amber is loud but still clean, and red means you're close to clipping (harsh digital distortion). A small peak marker holds the loudest recent level for a moment so brief spikes stay visible.
- Main Output
- The Main strip controls the final level after all tracks are mixed together. The fader is your master volume: 75 is unity gain (0 dB), and the top is +12 dB. Its meter shows the overall output, and the thin column beside it shows how much the main limiter is reducing the level. The speaker button at the left of the mixer shows or hides the Main strip. BOOST: pushes an extra +6 dB through the main limiter to reach streaming-service loudness. Leave it off to keep the mix's natural dynamics.
- Vertical or Horizontal
- Click the rotate button at the left of the mixer to switch layouts. Horizontal, the default, puts each track's strip at the start of its row of page thumbnails. Vertical shows tall faders side by side. On a computer, the rotate and Main strip buttons appear once the song has two or more tracks.
Equalizer
- EQ Mode
- A per-track 8-band parametric equalizer for shaping a track's tone. Press E, click the EQ button in the header, or turn on EQ Mode in the EQ tab of the Edit panel to open it over the grid. Press Escape to close it. Each track keeps its own EQ, and it works on both synth and drum tracks. EQ Mode and Automation Mode cannot be on at the same time.
- Bands
- Eight bands span the spectrum: a highpass and lowpass at the ends (each with a selectable 12, 24, or 48 dB/oct slope), a low shelf and high shelf, and four peaking bands in between. Each shelf and peaking band can be set to peak, notch, low shelf, or high shelf, with up to 18 dB of boost or cut. Click an empty part of the curve to turn on an unused peak or shelf band; toggle any band off to bypass it without losing its settings.
- Editing the Curve
- Drag a band's node to move it: left and right sets its frequency, up and down sets its gain. Roll the mouse wheel over a shelf or peaking node to widen or narrow its Q (bandwidth). Hold Shift while dragging or scrolling for fine control. Double-click a node to reset it. For exact values, use the band list in the EQ tab: drag a number up or down, or click it to type.
- Spectrum Analyzer
- A real-time analyzer draws the track's live spectrum behind the curve so you can see what you're cutting or boosting. Use the RTA buttons in the EQ tab to show the signal before EQ (Pre), after EQ (Post), or Both.
- Presets
- Start from a ready-made curve: Bass, Bright, De-Ess, De-Mud, Phone, V-Shape, Vocal, or Warm. Adjust from there to taste. Bypass turns the track's EQ off for comparison, and Reset EQ returns every band to its default.
